Garrett Richards, pitcher of the LA Angels, recently underwent stem cell treatment for an ulnar collateral ligament (elbow ligament) injury. This procedure was used to avoid surgery and ultimately cut recovery time from 12 months to 12 weeks! He has not yet returned to play but has been cleared to throw and continue rehabilitation.
